Former First Lady Imelda Marcos and Colonel Muammar Gaddafi share a light moment in this 1974 video still, when Mrs. Marcos went to Libya in order to “beard the lion in his den”, as Carmen Guerrero-Nakpil, once an aide of Mrs. Marcos, put it.
Mrs. Marcos would later report, among other things, that Gaddafi asked her, “Why don’t you become Muslim?”
